Olympus SZX10 - Advanced routine stereo zoom microscope

Key Features:
Resolution of 600 LP/mm
High Numerical Aperture (0.2)
Maximum magnification (126x)
Large Field of View (69.8 mm)
Long Working Distance (171 mm)
Easy to use fluorescence illuminator

The Olympus SZX10 is designed for routine research. It offers a maximum numerical aperture (NA) of 0.2, producing a resolution of 600 line pairs per millimetre. With this resolution (and peerless magnification) you can make your work more efficient, more precise and gain much more information from your samples. The Olympus SZX10 provides a zoom ratio of 10:1. With a broad range of objectives it is a fully modular system offering a range of options. Its compatibility with different imaging devices enables various application-dedicated configurations in materials and biological science applications.

Natural View - original shape, authentic colours
The DFPlan objective series is showing the shape of the specimen as it is, without any distortion. Furthermore the careful selection of lens surface coating and glass materials in the entire optical system makes it possible to observe and document specimens in their original, authentic colours. These features make the SZX10 the ideal choice for any preparation, measuring or verification task.  The broad range of distortion free objectives offers the right choice for every need.

Automation
The SZX10 motorised focus drive (optional) is making the digital documentation with extended focal imaging (EFI) efficiently and fully automatic. This even allows creation of pseudo 3D images, closing the gap between documentation and what the eyes have seen before through the stereoscopic lightpath. To facilitate documentation and analysis the Olympus cell* imaging software family offers all the tools required from simple 2D measurements up to complex phase analysis in an easy to use environment.

Reliability and Repeatability
Many imaging or measuring tasks require the use of the same zoom magnification setting to ensure consistent and comparable results. The integrated 11 position click-stop provides quick and easy access to this important function. In addition the SZX10 allows the quick change between stereoscopic view and axial light path for the camera. The advantage of the axial light path setting is that measurements taken with the camera are reliable and precise in all directions making results independent from the orientation of the sample under the microscope.

Ultimate visual comfort
The advanced Olympus ComfortView eyepieces on the SZX2 stereo microscopes enable a significantly larger range of eye movement for viewing the 3D image, making both short and long term use much more comfortable. This also makes it easier to form the stereo image, resulting in reduced occurrence of eyestrain.

Ergonomic
Olympus believes that ergonomy is not an add-on and therefore each microscope is designed with the user in mind. As a result, all controls are easy to use and features like ComfortView and the low stage height, greatly reduce sources of stress. Olympus can even provide an observation tube capable of adjustment between 5° and 45° (to the horizontal), for situations where the stereo microscope is used at many different heights.

High speed imaging
With the SZX2 range being so versatile, you will want to document or show live digital views of your sample. By fitting the SZX2 stereos with a trinocular head and moving the objective in the axial imaging pathway provides a perpendicular view of the sample. Attaching the Olympus DP71 cooled digital camera produces a very flexible imaging station. This is designed for high resolution documentation (up to 12.5 mega pixels) as well as high-speed imaging for live views in both colour and monochrome. The advanced interface enables excellent colour reproduction and no visible colour shifts during sample movement.

From the base up
The Olympus SZX2 range features the unique Olympus LED base system enabling fine control of transmitted illumination for bright and even images. With the ultra-slim 40 mm base, the SZX2 range has the most ergonomic stage height available. Moreover, a novel carousel enables the easy selection and control of brightfield, darkfield and oblique illumination. The long-life LEDs do not heat the stage or sample, greatly enhancing the flexibility for both research and advanced routine life science and material stereo microscopy.

Perfect oblique illumination
Most stereo microscopes use mirrors to create oblique illumination, which can lead to uneven and inconsistent contrast in the field of view. The SZX2 LED illumination system uses a fine shutter system of thin lamellae to produce ultra-precise and completely even oblique illumination. With this unique system, transparent samples can be seen with the same contrast across the entire field of view.

Automation
The SZX10 motorised focus drive (optional) is making the digital documentation with extended focal imaging (EFI) efficiently and fully automatic.  This even allows creation of pseudo 3D images, closing the gap between documentation and what the eyes have seen before through the stereoscopic lightpath.  To facilitate imaging and documentation the Olympus cell* software family provides you with flexible and easy to use functionality for better image acquisition, processing, archiving and analysis.

Easy fluorescence
The SZX-RFL2 is designed to allow fluorescence observation of organisms and living cells. Today researchers are often concentrating on making fluorescence observations via stereo microscopes, which not only let them observe large specimens but furthermore facilitate injections due to their longer working distance. In response to those needs, Olympus has made brightness and ease of use the key features of the high-performance SZX-RFL2 fluorescence illumination system.

Motic K400 4-Step CMO stereomicroscope system - The microscope for both biological and industrial inspection.

Employing a Common Main Objective [CMO] optical system, the Motic K400 produces flat, crisp, and true colour representations for the user over a long and continuous period. The CMO system benefits the user with the potential of accessory addition without sacrificing optical quality, which makes the K400 suitable for inspection applications.

The various contrast methods offer endless expandability of the Motic K400 without the need for purchasing a new microscope or modification. Therefore, one problem can be examined in two to three different methods with one microscope without the extra space required for another microscope. An ideal option for universities or laboratories with limited space.

Documenting one"s findings is a matter of choice, choice in method that is. The K400 offers the traditional photographic method [still] as well as the increasing popular and powerful method of digital documentation through one optical bridge. Further enhancing the image"s details and quality is the built-in double iris diaphragm of the optical bridge to compensate for over saturation of the illumination or the reflectiveness of the sample.

Features
* Continuous flatness and parfocality throughout the steps
* Magnification up to 320X
* Field of view up to 127.8mm
* Various contrast and documentation options

Remark
A Plan Achromat version is available as the K401 model.

Motic K401 Plan Achromat 4- Step CMO stereomicroscope - Ideal for inspection and photomicrographic applications

The Motic K401 expands on the benefits of a Common Main Objective [CMO] optical system by integrating a Plan Achromat objective to further reveil information within the field of view. Images on the edge of the field of view appear flat instead of curved, as in other systems, which makes the K401 ideal for inspection and photomicrography.

With the longest standard working distance [110mm], the Motic K401 merges the benefit of the Greenough system"s long working distance with the optical clarity of the CMO system for a more versatile solution for numerous applications. The K401"s working distance can be further increased [up to 312mm] through the use of Achromat auxiliary objectives.

In documentation mode, true colour renditions via a still or video device are the results of the K401"s Plan Achromat objective and the utilisation of the double iris diaphragm of the 1500.4 optical bridge. Documentation is easily converted to analysis with the employment of one of Motic"s digital application camera and self-produced software packages to fully maximise the potential of the K401.

Features
* Plan Achromat standard objective for true flatness and colour representation
* Longer standard working distance of 110mm
* Magnification up to 320X
* Field of view up to 127.8mm
* Various contrast and documentation methods
