Olympus IX51 - Inverted biological microscope.

Key Features:
Superb UIS2 optics
Easy, convenient operation
Slim and compact design saves space
Suitable for a large variety of applications

The Olympus IX51 is designed for many routine and research applications including advanced fluorescence techniques, relief contrast, phase contrast  and Nomarski/DIC. The slim frame enables easy attachment of multiple accessories for cell culture and imaging applications. Excellent optical performance and mechanical quality have been combined into a microscope system of outstanding value.

UIS2 - making the invisible visible
The new milestone in optical evolution - UIS2.  See what you never saw before and protect your cells against harmful radiation. Superb signal to noise performance and enhanced spectral range deliver maximum signal with minimum excitation power. The once again improved chromatic aberration correction guarantees highest colour fidelity.

Fluorescence
Olympus fluorescence illumination combined with Olympus high definition ion coated filters. Highest signal to noise performance incorporating the wavelength accuracy, edge steepness and low autofluorescence of the UIS2 HQ-fluorescence-filters offer the potential for new discoveries. Innovative fluorescence detection methods like total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) and the disc scanning confocal unit (DSU) expand your view to surface phenomena (TIRF) and produce life 3D images (DSU).

Modular Motorisation
Motorisation is essential for full process automation. The Olympus modular motorisation concept allows you to select the automation level depending on your requirements. Motorised modules for IX81 and the manual IX51/71microscopes include fluorescence and transmitted light condensers, filterwheels for illumination and observation light paths, shutters and stages. All is controlled by a convenient hand switch or by our imaging software.

Contrast tailored to your needs
With the flexible and new UIS2 DIC system adjust the contrast to your needs. From thin to thick specimen you will surely find the right contrast in every required magnification. The Olympus Relief Contrast delivers clear 3D-like images for accurate and easy manipulation across all magnifications with optimised visualisation of cellular membranes.

Slim and Rigid
Reduced to the Max without any compromise for stability. The IX2 inverted research frames are unsurpassed in compactness with concurrent rocklike stability.
